Bivacco Vaccari Ring
The circular itinerary to reach the Vaccari bivouac starts from the car park in Borbe near the cross-country ski run.
Continue in the direction of the forest through the dirt road to then take path 326 which proceeds at altitude towards the Cridola Valley, first passing through a beech forest and then turning into a mountain path on some tongues of scree.
The 326 then crosses the path that rises from the valley and gradually increases in altitude along the rocks, always keeping to the orographic right. The path then crosses a source of drinking water in the Aganasse area, always on the right there are the red signs that lead to the rocks just below the Vaccari bivouac. Up to here the travel time is around 3/3:30. The ring continues climbing the Cridola fork behind the bivouac along the orographic left of the scree. Once you reach the fork, you descend on the Friuli side, thus sweeping the view over Carnia. The path here descends and then climbs up a little to the Fossiana pass, from here on you continue along Val de la Tora up to the Mauria pass, the dirt road to the left of the state road then leads to Borbe and the car park.
